Founder story

I spent four years watching users sign up and disappear. I could never see why.

I was a product manager at a vertical B2B SaaS company in Madison. We had a self-serve free trial and decent top-of-funnel traffic. The problem was day 3 to day 14: users would complete step 1 and step 2 in onboarding, then just stop. No cancellation email. No reply to our check-in. They simply went quiet.

We tried product analytics tools to understand the drop. They showed us events, but not why users were stuck or which ones were about to churn. We tried onboarding flow builders. They let us build checklists, but they had no model for who actually needed them. The two categories existed in separate tabs and never talked to each other.

In early 2023 I left to build the thing I kept drawing on whiteboards: one layer that maps where users stall, scores their churn risk from behavioral signals, and fires the right intervention before they give up. Not a product analytics suite. Not a CRM. The activation layer that lives between your product and your growth team, and makes self-serve actually work.

Onboardvue is bootstrapped and we are staying that way. We answer to customers, not to a growth-at-all-costs mandate. Every feature on the roadmap came from a product team telling us what they needed at 11pm before a sprint review.

Shapes the no-code nudge builder and activation map interface. Her rule: if a PM can't use it in 10 minutes, we redesign it.

Every signup deserves a shot at activation.

PLG teams spend months acquiring signups and almost nothing diagnosing why those users stall. The churn signal is in the behavioral data. It was always there. We built Onboardvue to surface it early enough to act on.

Activation rate beats DAU. Churn prediction beats NPS.

We track what predicts whether a new user becomes a retained customer: step-completion rate, time-to-first-value, behavioral depth in week one. Vanity metrics are not on our dashboard.

Interventions should feel helpful, not automated

Every nudge Onboardvue fires is triggered by a behavioral signal: a user stuck at a step, a risk score crossing a threshold, a feature left untouched on day 7. Not a Tuesday email sequence. Not a quota.

Not a product analytics suite. Not a CRM.

We do one thing: activation and churn prediction for PLG self-serve products. We integrate with your analytics stack, we do not replace it. That scope is deliberate and will not change.
